I need to remove the "lip" on my back arches to fit my new wheels.

With the coilovers on i cant get away with "rolling" them i actually need the lip removing.

If a grinder comes into play to remove this lip and a good dose of Waxoil - will this be enough to prevent the arch from completly disintegrating???

cut the arches off up to the bolt holes in an arch shape to follow the original shape of the arch then bond the arches back on, slap some waxoil on there or hammerite/paint the bare metal and it will be fine and give ya loads of room

What allot of people do is remove the plastic arch trim. Cut away the desired amount of metal. Then bond the arches back on, rather than use the bolts. The bolts are generally something the wheels rub on.

Yeah, as long as any exposed metal is covered/sealed it will be fine. If no, then you'll have future probs with rust.
