All he needss to do is prove its standard, and quote vauxhalls book speed for the vehice, if it is less than the accused, surely the police dont have a leg to stand on?

I'd be confident of getting off with this infact....

There is a pritty much cast iron method of getting it thrown out of court when its a ridiculous speed in something shit.

As mine is a 1.2 on the log book, if I ever got caught doing a top speed run on the motorway or something I'd play this card!

They can check whether your car is standard, and there was a case last year where some guy actually had to get his car taken onto a track and driven by a professional to prove it couldn't go that fast.

I remember that - lad with a punto wasn't it?

Got an impartial tester to drive it to the limit, most he got out of it was 98mph when the coppers said he was doin 115 or something. Case thrown out.

Bloke in an import scooby done that aswell, got caught doing 140+ and claimed his car was limited to 112mph - which it was............I think he had the limiter put back in IMO but fair play to him, he beat the system!!

Ok, so in future, anyone who gets caught speeding, just ask it to be tested, and take out two pistons the day before
