Where would i find out about a job with the port police? my dads 'heard' there are vacancies at the minute, for Hartlepool and Tees Port, but i cant find anything about it on google/jeeves about job vacancies. Its just something to look at before i can reapply to the Police force, and give me something more to back up my application form.

custom an excise are different to port police port police are a division within everyday police
there are 3 services which operate on most ports there is hm customs and excise there are port police officers and then civilian search teams who get basic police search training
to be on the port police you have to be a police officer first

if the port has there own police force then yes you should be able to join if the port is police by your local constabulary then you will have to join the police force and after your probation apply for a transfer onto the port if there is a vacany

best thing to do is write to the port police which you have interest and find out if they are policed by your local constabulary or if they are the ports own police
