Heard an interesting stastic this morning on the radio, 4 out of every 5 women surveyed said that they found a man who drives a sports car more sexually attractive.
I reckon british women are the most materialistic in the world after americans. To put into perspective when i take the impreza into the city and drive past young girls i can see them practically wetting their 14 yr old little panties. If i go out in the fiesta they turn their noses up or point and laugh.
all about status and money these days for you girls isnt it

you reckon they are the most materialistic, so you've sampled women from all the other countries?

also stop complaining, you drive a impreza, not like you go bombing about the streets of norwich in a corsa or anything

Willy im not drawing the assumptions of materialism from personal experience. All you need to do is take a look at most of europe and compare it to us. We are a celebrity crazy country, people cant get enough of celebrity status/lifestyles money, expensive cars etc etc. All these things come before anything else.
Yes i drive an impreza, but dont see it as a pose sports car. If i was single id drive an poofy audi TT, watch the julies line up then. One of my mates has an elise, and we overheard some of the birds he works with talking about it. Should have heard things they were saying, well shallow and materialstic.

Again do you know this for a fact? Personally I wouldnt know as I havent lived in a country such as france/italy/spain/germany long enough to work out how shallow (or not shallow as the case may be) the women are.
Have you got experience of the above?

Fair enough it isnt a pose sports car, but its definantly something poseyish or I dunno what word to use, visually loud?
Also, mmmm elise.

Yes i lived in France for 18 months, had a spanish/indian gfriend and have friends abroad.
Dont see why you are defending the statistic so much? Im not sure wether the sample they surveyed was representative of the population but 4/5 is still pretty high.
No one else shares my view then?

Not at all mate its just I see no data for this stat thats all, its like me saying "did you know Vibrio is a faggot, its a statistic." without actually providing any data.
Plus in the original post you didn't say anything about you actually being with a french/italian girl, but now I'm more then satisified with your comment as you have actually experienced it.
I still don't share your view though, I guess I havent been with enough shallow girls yet

Yes Would be interesting to see the data for this survey.
But you must be able to see with no empirical data at all how celebrity obsessed women are in this country. Look at all the programs on TV these days, magazines such as heat etc. women cant get enough of reading about the glitz, glamour, cars, money etc of celebrties.

ie two blokes, equally attractive in terms of physical appearance and personality. one has an S2000 the other has a diesel fiesta, you pick the s2000 owner because the fact he owns that car is a bonus.

yes i think its a bad thing that i have not travelled and experienced that many different cultures. We are certainly very different from the rest of europe thats for sure. Maybe i have conformed a little, do i really need an impreza? is it essential, do i feel good if i get attention in it? probably.
Interesting that when i bump into most people you hear the "what are you driving now?", makes me think hmm what would you reaction be if i said fiesta, and what would it be if i said aston martin. If a girl i was chatting up asked me what job i did or what car i drove very early on in the conversation i would assume that she was gauging my status/wealth etc. If she started talking about culture, music, friends/family etc i would be much more interested.

Yeah but no two people are the same, if she liked one more than the other but still picked the one she liked less with the nice car then fine, but similarly if you liked two girls 'the same' would you choose the one with the evo or the one with the cavalier

No thats not how it works.
A while ago i met two blokes both with their own businesses, one aged 21 with a fiesta zetec-s and the other was 22 with a ZR and R32. And i didnt pick the one with the better car

I know no two people are the same, but for the theoretical question they would be 100% the same.
I would go for the one with the EVO, not because i would find her more attractive, id just want to drive her car

I agree Seth but I don't think it's just this country...
The amount of times I've seen work mates pull just because they're traders, or even just pretending to be
Women complain some men use them as trophies, but I think a lot of women are in competition with their mates to get the best looking and richest guy...

Thats because you knew they took the same amount of money home so the guy with the fester might have had more money left only have the one smaller car
