...do you need to be from the kerb when parallel parking in order to pass that section of a driving test? Girl I know reckons it's 3ft 
I'm pretty sure she's incorrect, as you'd need a taxi to get to the pavement...

If someone cant get closer then 3ft, I wouldnt like parking near them

I did it on my test, I passed, but I was only about 3" away from the kurb... it's about a foot though, but they don't get out with a tape and mesure it

In a foot but its up to the examiner really if its a narrow street and you a foot out they might fail you its one of them things.
