heres the story -
i found a company to fit my car dvd player and screen into the dash after giving up halfway through on my attempts, they quoted me £200 to do the job. the company is 150miles from me tho , so i took a day off work , drove there and then picked it up on the saturday. 12 o clock on the saturday before i set off i rang the company to make sure it was ready, they asked me if i wanted it wiring upto the speakers (DOH) which i said i did , but there fitters left at 12:30 so i guess they had to rush it.
i picked it up, all of the buttons were hanging out the dash, so i had to push them in place , the dvd player was a bit wonky as well and there was a wire in the way , so i couldnt slide the setting across to demist the windows. also the hazard button wasnt working (but i guessed the button had just fell out of the back of it)
I told them about not being able to demist , and they said that I should ring back on monday and they would tell me how to take it apart. well it was sunday , i needed my demister to work as it was very icy , so i take the top part of the centre console out to see that the full thing had being glued on, i pulled it off so i could get to the wire , so now my full centre console was hanging off, also tried to fix the hazard button but it was all plugged in fine , and i worked out it will only work if your indicating. also there is thumbprints in the paint work as well.
so today, got up at 5:30 to drive there, dropped it off and all seemed fine. i rang them after an hour and a half or so to see how long it would be, they said 1hr30, then he said "about your hazard button, you will need a new one because its broken", so i said "well it was working b4 i gave the car to you , can u fix it?" , he says "you will need a new one" , so i said " are you going to pay for it then , as it was working before i dropped it off to you" he then says "no , i will tell you what , come back here , get your car and FCUK OFF" and slams the fone down on me.
so i go back to the place , my car is outside , dvd player in the passenger footwell , resprayed centre console piece on a bit of wood on the passenger chair , none of the hazard/demister switches put back in place and he had put brackets into the centre console but not screwed it into place with anything. i start to drive away , realise my indicators arent working , go back to complain , he says "well they was working before when we had it" so i told him i cant drive 3 hours on a motorway with no indicators he said "you can and you will". anyway he said this as he was walking over to the car , he fixes the indicators and gives me some bullshit about me starting doing it and that probaly messed up the hazard light because there was "wires all over" when i dropped the car off. he said if i was more of a nice person i would of got things done, but i never raised my voice or swore at him , so im not in the wrong here?
im going to go to citizens advice about it , but i cant get in touch with them atm, but if i did go would they be able to do anything about it? like could they get me my money back or something?
they didnt even offer to pay for my petrol after them doing it wrong and me having to drive all the way back there
sorry for the essay!

i dont really wanna say the company name until something is sorted about it, if you get what i mean. they're work has been in redline a few times, so they are meant to be quite professional , obviously not tho

Write to the mags. If they help promote the company, they'll be on hand to help.

They are unlikely to print anything though as it would be classed as slander
