cars with F16 gear boxes pick up quicker becasue of lower ratios

good points:
torqey
bullet prooff
decent mpg
as JR said embarasses bigger cars
spares and knowledge is plentifull so easy to fix

bad points:
you have a licence to keep
most engines have been thrashed to death
when goes wrong will go wrong big style...ask myself or Adam B all about that

straight forward swap,
loadsa power for the size of car.
shit loadsa parts and knowledge available due to the engines race/kitcar heritage.

bad points.
some could be on last legs.
electrical sensors !!!

none have coscast blocks. they are all identical gm stamped.
coscast heads on the early engines.
some early engines had forged pistons aswell, but then the engine is older.

main differences are manual/auto belt tensioner on early/late engines, and dizzy/dispack the same.
loom differences are more an issue.

The later the XE the better IMO, the early ones have coscast heads and better piston blah blah but these are nealy 20 years old now....

Not sure if you can tell from the block, its not that important which car it comes from as long as its not a X20XEV (ecotech engine) Can easily spot these as the spark plug cover is black with ecotech written on it, as appose to red with vauxhall DOHC 16v writing. hence red top & black top

Corsa was never built to hold a 2L engine, so focus on handling and a corsa wasnt desinged to go fast , just remember this at 130mph

Fook that, mines seen the wrong side of 160mph plenty of times no probs...

Watch for the sump gasket leaking, I hardly know a LET or XE that doesn't!

The big bad point is as Nismo said, the corsa isnt a good handling car in the first place so with a 2 litre engine in the front it is shocking!

If I were to do the corsa thing again, Id go for a 1.6XE with throttle bodies and focus on a really good suspension setup! 150bhp to 160bhp is a nice amount of power for a corsa!

Good point is that in a straight line they are great fun and a real street sleeper! I scared some serious cars in mine! People think they wont even need to try and by the time they realise the Corsa thats just f*cked off isnt a 1.5TD as badged they havent got time to catch you!

there not shocking if you have a proper suspension set up, like koni adjustables where you can actully adjust how the car handles

ive thrashed fads car around and mine and they handle very similarly

Go and drive a clio 182 then a 2.0 corsa and tell me the corsas handling is not shocking in comparison.
