When watching a dvd on pc it is really dark..

Even turning the brightness up to 100% on monitor still really dark....Can't see anywhere else to adjust..???

ANy ideas???

I had already adjusted contrast and didn't work..

but just put dvd back on and had a play about and looks better.......

i want to know why my laptop is brighter when it is running off the battery but when i plug it into mains it goes dimmer. only slightly

usually its the other way around - ie: dimmer with battery, brighter with mains - but thats to save power etc. Dont know about your case though

kerry, there should be an option in your BIOS for adjusting brightness levels for battery and mains power. a brighter display will drain the battery faster.

Adjust the gamma levels in your graphics card settings, nvidia have nview, not sure about ATI

hehe, del or f1,f2 keys on startup. then it should be in there somewhere. turn it to the same level as its on mains power, and it shouldnt change when you move over to batt power
