I'm looking into buying a salvage car at the moment and repairing and selling on. All of the ads say "buyer applies for V5", i am wondering what has to be done ot apply for the V5 and can it ever be the case that you can't get the V5 for one reason or another ?

Any help is appreciated

you can apply for a V5 on a V62 form which u can get from the link below. Theres a 19quid fee for a V5 document.

http://www.dvla.gov.uk/forms/frms_vehicles.htm

if its coming from a salvage yard though it may need a vehicle identity check(VIC) first. Think theres a £38 fee for one should have more info on the website though.
