looks nice, but id rather got for the Honda NSR 125 or Cagiva Mito 125,
maybe even the Aprilla, but ive not had a go on one of them, the Cagiva is
my favourite all rounder, it pulls well, can be harshly de-ristricted, and is
punchier, plus it has a nice classy look and slightly more unusual

If you're going for a 125 mate get yourself a Aprilla RS125, quickest about iirc

Im 6" 4' so a NSR is slightly on the small side for me. This bike is the same frame etc. as the suzuki bandit so its a real sized bike and is about £1000 cheaper

Cheap imported shite, you'd be better buying a brand name. Plenty of 'sit up and beg' learner legal bikes about.

All these bikes are around the 1000-1500 mark and are alot better for the money, Ithink the Aprilla is a little sluggish compared to others in the same class

at 6ft 4' though he is gonna be cramped on mito, not so much on the RS125. Older NSR is a fair bet but still I'd get a bike similar to a bandit, bandit 250 etc...

He cant have a 250, he said it has to be learner legal, so nothing over 125, but i agree Bandits are good bikes

Nope no point but just stating you can have over a 125 and still be leaner legal. The fireblade the PB had restricted was ok ish up to a ton then just died. As long as the 33BHP limit aint passed (without a kit) you can ride what you like. However as said a lot of bikes don't respond to well with the kit. A good choice if you want to buy your long time bike now then after 2 years (not before naughty) remove the kit and you have your full power bike.

Insurance is crazy though cause they still base it on a full fireblade with no bike experiance and no NCB ££££££££

Right so this 33BHP is the current legal limit then, so aslong your bike is below that its legal? They seem to change the laws every week

More or less yeah. These laws have been inforce since Jan 1997. I should know I got a full unrestricted license 1 month before the new laws

On what basis are you saying the aprilia 125 RS is sluggish compared to a mito and PMSL a NSR??
Aprilia RS + Mito run the same power derestricted, pretty much do 0-60 in exactly the same time and handle just about as well as each other...
a NSR is piss poor, 4 stroke means it just doesn't have the same sort of power as the other 2 smokes.

This is a Rs extrema... can be picked up cheap anything from like 1993-1998 was a extrema I think. and they look really nice, great shape to them Make sure it has a power valve and thus de-restricted and it'll be about 34 bhp - 0-60 in about 6.8 secs

The point of that is that even though it'll be restricted, having a bigger CC bike restricted will pull a lot better from low down, due to have more torque. You won't have to constantly thrash the nuts off it like these 125's. It'll probably also give better reliabilty and you'll look less like a 17 year old. Plus when you are able to de-restrict it, you don't have to buy a new bike.

It's a Bandit Chassis with a different engine and name IIRC.... Go for it fuck going for name brands and that as a first bike, get some experience first before you go for a named Bike at least then you wont be forking out ££££'s just to stuff it into the first obstacle you come across!
*edit*fucking Computer posted jack shit

The main point of this thread should be to step away from the Hyosung. It may be cheap but you'll get a piss poor dealer choice, parts may be interchangeable with other brands but I wouldn't be bothered with the hassle. Oh and depreciation will be a bitch

Just pick up a cheap 2nd hand Aprilia Rs... good looks - cheap so if you stack it who cares and derestricted (everyone rides them derestricted) they're quite nippy and handle well.
