yb is the engine code prefix for the cossie engine, followed by another letter to describe which version of the engine it is, like

YBB for the 3 doors
YBG for the race engines
YBP for the escort

theres loads of variations, but its basically the same engine

the 205 and 200 block both have the yb prefix, with different letters as the suffix

here is a full list

YBA - non turbo 16v cossie development engine

YBB - turbo of above

YBC - mountune spec rally engine

YBD - RS500 version

YBE - kit car and non ford applications

YBF - touring car rs500 engine

YBG - unleaded

YBJ - saff 4x4 one

YBT - escort
