on a 1.6sport and the egr valve has broken off how dangerous is it to drive?

as long as no exhaust gasses are leaking it should be ok for a short period. however you will find it will overfuel and possibly damage the cat

its on my mates car, just remembered its a 1.4 either way i cudnt see it being a good think that its come off, guy reckons he needs a new manifold to fix the problem?!
