i think they need a good clean under, but i chnt find a way to get them off + i want to spray them, the weird thing is the haynes doesnt mention them :S anyone know?

They are metal, so be carful choosing ya primer, think they just pull off dude, dont bend em though

no the roof rails are metal, they need etch primer or paint wont stick at all. Bodyshops hate oing them there a bitch supposibly, i wouldnt attempt to paint them myself.

nope, as the rails are treated with some strange stuff that normal primer refuses to stick to properly...
galvanised and something else i believe i was told...

if u drive the car much / hard then the smoothed off rails WILL crack, thats y they are not smooth as std...
Its part of the cars design that the shell flexs along the line of the rails, smooth it and no more flex there = cracking metal.
Smooth roof is ok for a show car, but not if you want to drive it much.

i dont drive it hard, i would rather keep my lisence, thats why i am building my R1 or GSXR1000 go-kart with nitrous.
should run 8-9sec 1/4 miles
and the derv corsa for the road
