Better drop it otherwise it's going to look like a tractor.Even if it is not dropped you're going to have rubbing once you have people in the back.Archwork is involved yes,de-bolting the two top bolts and bonding the arches back on and some plastic arch triming.

i think the width is 8 incehs although this seems wider than most? im guessing to measure the width you just need to measure from one lip to the other?
what size tyres will i need? will 195/45/16's be ok?

Removed bolts, trimmed return lip, still caught occasionally.

with a full car or just with you? like when you go over bumps or have it on full lock it caught?
is taking the bolts out and trimming the lip a fairly simple job that i can do myself?

yes you can do it yourself, just need patience and time you literally unscrew the bolts that stick out and remove the plastic and cut of a few cm of the metal arch lip and then Glue the plastic arches back on... theirs tons of previous posts about it on here, jus search through it!

but another thing about using wrong OFFSET i heard is that the handling will never be that good, but maybe if u get new front and rear anti roll bars and strut braces then maybe

i thought the handling onyl went tits up once once you get past et40 and downwards and that going to an et45 wheel will actually improve the handling
