Would I then get refunded? Or even could I say I wanted to pay monthly and after 1 months payment cancel the policy?

You could but you usually pay a big deposit and then have penalties for cancelling, it'd cost 5 times what a normal month would.
Whats the reason for needing it? There might be other ways of having two cars at the same time etc?

my insurance finishes march 03rd and i need 2 months insurance only.
tesco have told me my renewal is £1500 and I would have to pay my 2 months insurance money for the 2 months then probably another month on top for cancelling it.
bastards.

I have a Megane as a temporary car and had two options for insuring it.
Insure it as a second car with the Corsa for 1 month and pay £60 on top of my existing premium, or change the details over to the Megane until I need to use the Corsa again, and get £40 back off my premium.
