Right, I just ran in to a problem on one of my machines that I'm stumped with...
the GO button in IE only works if you put the http:// before the URL, pressing enter will not work either, the URL HAS to have http:// on the front for the browser to even move from the home page.
Does anyone have a fix for this? I'm guessing it's just a registry key value that will need setting again, but I'm not sure which one it is, and it's doing my head in
Cheers people.

she should respect the interweb and use http://
checked the proxy settings in IE or something? I'd start there personally.

Checked it all... I can't see anything wrong with it at all... the thing is, it has software on called Deep Freeze, which freezes the hard drive so when you change settings and reboot they will be defauled again, users cannot save anything on to the machines... I just don't get how it's broke

I know that, but try telling that to a thick member of the public who knows nothing about PC's... we have to make it as easy as we can
Any way, it's totally shagged up, My Computer wont even load, I think I'll just re0-ghost it and have done with it lol

that doesn't work without http:// either... the only way I've found that works is for example if you type "google" then hold CTRL and the press enter, cos that puts "http://www." and ".com" on, but that only works for .com's

You have the power in this situation, maybe make some comment about the most professional and effeicent way of doing things is using the http:// , say something like "our internal html proxy server can process the URL request quicker if http:// is in the data field"
