Anyone got any suggestions of what to get?? Seriously anything will be concidered cause I dont have a clue!
I should have roughly £3.5-4K for the car and insurance.
Id like sporty hatch but not sure what I could get insured on at 18, no NCB, pass plus.
Any help MUCH appreciated

You could get insured on all of the above, wouldnt be surprised if they wanted 2k+ tho.
What do you want from it most? reliability, build quality, performance etc? If it was me id be looking at things like 1.4 16v Corsa sport etc

Try Churchill, Tesco, and Norwich Union. All been good for me
VTRs prob just in your price range, however if you can get insurance under 1k you might be able to pick up a cheap 106 GTi.
You might be better off getting a 1.0 12v or 1.2 Corsa B just to build up some no claims. We all had to start somewhere

Take pug nuts advice on cars with a Pinch of salt
cars i'd buy in that price range..
Mk4 Astra SRI 1.8/2.0 are all available around £3k
Corsa GSi or a newer Sport
XR2i if you can find a clean example must be the 1.8
Fiesta/Escort RS Turbo some clean examples going for around £2.5k mark
Pug 106 GTi
Dont buy a Saxo FFS you'll end up sticking with Shitroens all your lives cos they'll leave you penniless adn it's all you'll be able to afford (look at Pug-nut for f**k sake)

Saxos are cheap 106s cost a little more but hold there value quite well My Saxo was fucked due to having done 68,000 abused miles. That tiny 1.1 engine did not like doing 75 in 3rd gear (Straigh into the fast lane once speed was built up) Now got a diesel Focus as it's cheap as chips on juice and has 5 doors.

My post code should actually be pretty good if the post in help zone and Mod advise is anything to go by.
I couldnt drive 1.0 12v SetoN! 0-60 in over 15 seconds is far too slow for me.

Your telling me, im so tempted to sell it and get me a 1.4 sport, but my g/f won't let me, lol, she seems to think its a waste of money. tbh, once ive got my 1 yrs NCD im thinking of either the 1.2 or 1.4 SXi corsa c. But we'll see how much ive saved up by summer

The 1.2 sxi is nippy and alot faster than your 1.0 12v I have one as a courtesy car at the moment.
