I need to know what the blue and the blue and white wires are for in the loom that goes through the bulkhead linking the headlights etc?

The blue/white goes to the signal output on the alternator, and the blue wire goes to the coolant temp sensor for the temperature on ur clocks.

yeah just seen on my current loom where that went just the ones on my new loom had been cut off  is it ok to solder then tape over two wires together?

It is on the blue/white one, but on the blue one make sure you insulate it well as the more resistance the wire picks up the higher the temp will read on your dash.

seems like it aint getting sorted today anyway as the wiring has burnt through all down the inside of car aswell
