back in november my bill was due for my mobile. but i forgot to put the money in the account that it gets taken out of. so my phone was blocked, i paid my bill using an automated system which went through fine (i also received a charge from my bank for £35 for missing payment so fair enough!. i then called o2 and gave an agent my new direct debit details for my bills to be paid from. at the end of december my phone got cut off again and i received a letter from the bank stating that i had missed another payment and i would be charged another £35. i phoned o2 up and said i called and setup a new direct debit a month ago so why did you try and take money from a direct debit that is no longer in use. agent said that is the only direct debit they have setup! now i got angry! i said i have been charged by my bank for a mistake made by you, so the agent agreed that if i sent the letter to them (was given the name of the agent to send it to and the address) that i received from the bank they would refund my money to my bank account! 3 weeks later still no money in my account!
should i write to head office with the name of the agent or get ofcom involved?

Unless there's an O2 customer services employee on CS working overtime, get your complaint in writing to O2 and name and shame employees.
Keep a record of all communications before you get in touch with any regulatory body.
If you're dissatisfied with the service, why are you still with O2?

Perhaps... or you could just be slower than most.

You say the service is good... how is it?
Do you get a signal in areas you'd expect not to get a signal? Do O2 give you incentives to remain a customer? If you have no reason to complain, it doesn't mean you've not had a good service, just that you've not had a bad one until now.
When your bins are emptied each week do you stand in the street and applaud them when the bins are neatly placed back outside each property? Hopefully not.. but you can bet that a lot of residents complain when their bins are left halfway up the road!
