Yeah definitely as long as its in good condition etc. I got a black Dell 15" TFT a few weeks ago and it was £110 but it was factory refurbished rather than second hand.

I thought the same when we got our first Samsung 17" - picture was really blurry when connected with a VGA cable, but when i connected it to the PC by DVI, the image was much sharper and definitely better than having a huge CRT monitor on the desk.

^ agreed, most don't have the clarity of a CRT

this TFT was connected via DVI, u had to be front facing on it to be able too see the screen, it got dark around the edges too. LCD is 100000X times better than TFT

It's cos most people buy crap TFT's. If you want a DECENT 17", spend £250+, if you want a decent 19", spend £400...
Also, you want PVA technology TFT's, like the NEC 1980SX, or the Samsung 173P or 193P... they have viewing angles of 178 degrees and are soooooo clear...
