aye, spoons.

Better and easier than spoons, hacksaw blades, and chop the end off(the bit with the pin in) then slide them down the sides. Then put your hand behind the unit and push it out, this is quite easy to do from the back left of the unit, as you look at it from infront, not quite as much room on the right hand side.

OR you could get your ass up the pod tomorrow and have someone do it for you, with the proper tools and everything! and i dont even have a pioneer unit

Think I have those sorta things... they're L shaped yeh?

mines a pioneer 6400 R ... ____| < that shaped thing. I've got a couple I could probably let you borrow.

I bloody fitted my pioneer to my 106 gti today! after loads of hassel!!! - i.e. ariel kept coming out and the wires were all in the way, bitch to get old stuff out etc etc...

and it won't save my memory.

Bloody remembered I swapped the yellow + red wire over, as for corsa its different - doh. Gotta take it out tommorrow and swap em back over again.

The ariel cable is also stupidly short! Why they didn't make it just an inch longer I don't know? but it means you put the ariel in the back... then go to tuck all the wires in and slide it back and it pops out

yeh I believe halfords may do them?

To get standard one out you need round things - so coat hanger works ok... but to get the pioneer out its those flat |______ shaped things

yup. Seriously though, all you need is some slim metal, I can get some units out with my car key, just the one. Do one side at a time, have used cable ties before now too. Alls it does is releases a catch on the side of the unit/cage. The advantage of using pioneer ones is that then u just pull the keys out and the unit comes with it, but just as easy to slide it out as i explained up there somewhere^^^^^

You not got a hacksaw/junior hacksaw? knife'll do it, like i say, just summit to slide down the side and release the clip.

yeh as corb says - should do it. get two bits of thin metal or lolly pop sticks - slide em down each side... then pull at the front (or push from behind if you've removed ash tray)

It does amuse me that most people (obv not you corb) that get a 2.0 16v turbo corsa don't take it down the strip.

Snowy hasn't taken his down and he's supposed to be running 280ish bhp - I took a 1.2 16v down there lol - I think snowy is a big girlie.
