looking at a few cars for my next buy (getting new one march april time) and seen a couple of pug 306 GTi-6 about. theres a nice X reg one with 38k on clock for £4800.
What do you guys think of them? like the look but are they reliable/tunable?
whats the power of them? 0/60?
also are they on springs/shocks on the back or torsion bar?
cheers

I really like the GTI-6.
A mate at my work has one, and it looks sweet with subtle mods.
I'm sure it's on a torsion bar too, most french cars are on them.

Yeah i have been in it.
It's a nice quick ride. Not sure if he has had any real problems with it
but it's not too old either. It's on a private plate so not sure of the year, might be a 99 or 00 plate.
The guy at my work got his cheaper than what they normally go for because it was one of those ex test drive cars from the dealership.
He has always had it serviced from Peugeot too.

As with all pugs make sure ALL your electrics are fully working as they do seem to have alot of stupid electrical faults
the main 1 being the airbag light as the connection under the seat is sh1t

i know some1 whos got 1, nice cars and i they got that bit more room than the 106 and the extra gear. havnt been out in it but theres not meant to be alot in it to 70ish against the 106 and when he used to beep the horn the main beams came on .and he did the passenger window up and somehow it carried on going and the top of the window was inline with the roof and at an angle pointin outside the car and wedged find a goodun though and it should keep u happy

The wiring from the airbag control unit to the seatbelt pretensioner that runs under the driver's seat is a common 306 fault, especially on the phase 1 and 2 models. It's easy enough to fix, just cut off the wiring plug and solder the wires together.

I took my mum out for a drive and was taking it really easy... plodding along in 4th / 5th... I said 'permission to put my foot down' - she was like 'please don't' - but before she could finish saying that I nailed it in 2nd lol... she flew back in her seat and was shouting 'that's enough - thats enough' as I changed into 3rd... took it to about 80 and then backed off...
She wasn't impressed

ok thanks all, looks like im getting one now, going for an 00, 01 plate.
how can a 106Gti be same as 306 gti to 70??
106 is 118bhp? and 306 GTi-6 is 167bhp??
anyway want a bigger car than my corsa and more power so really set on a 306. insurance is good too £600 with adrian flux (im 21 soon with 3NCB)

Because a 106 gti weighs nothing - where as the 306 is a bigger car.
