Car is very jumpy at the moment, and "taps" wen engine running! Have checked oil, not sure what else it could be... Might get a service! What u'll think ?

tappets need adjusting?

Needs new larger shims?

oil.... how old/many miles is it?

Yes exactly, booked it in for a "check up" tomoz at 8.30

Check distributer *sp* cap and spark plugs sounds like it is missing, happens this time of year if damp gets in

what its like to adjust the tappets as mine seems to be tapping whilst running only very slightly. cheers

yes but 8v or 16v. 16v got hydrolic tappets so son;t need adjusted. does the noise stop when you come off the gas?
