how long would it take and what tools would be needed?

1500 is total bog standard going rate.

literally buy engine, mounts etc and fitting.
you have to consider everything else like bits that may need to be replaced etc.

oil change, cambelt, tensioner, filters, pro race 2s....dead easy to do whilst the engine is out
