just re-installed XP Pro on my home machine....
I was running 2000 Office/Pro before the HDD died, with no probs with spyware/pop ups etc......
This versoin is cracked so cannot get MS updates etc...
What do you guys use (pref free) to kill the damn shite....
Using stopzilla just now, didnt do jack first time round, but seems to be holding out after a reboot and clearup, ken.....

also just found a process hogging 90% CPU HP_Deskjet_500.exe
that's not even on the sys.... anyideas what that 'was'
died a quick death..... fucker
also defragfatx.exe ????

i have no print drivers installed killed the fucker 3 time snow..
Also.... my upstream flow is huge compared to receiving...... connection just gets sooo slow after 5mins then the bugger crashes

Might be worth getting a fire wall such as Zonealarm then too. that way you can choose what program has access to what, and block the ones you dont want to have access .

I would source another backup of xp. You must have a dodgy one 
Should be able to use windows update no prob.
