If you were going to go stock hatch racing, what car would you use? Just curious - I was trying to think and I would probably say Saxo VTR or Pug 106 Rallye
Basic rules are that it has to be pretty much standard (apart from lowering)
And then engine can only be max 1400cc if its 16v or 1600cc if its 8v. few other rules and stuff?

If you were going to do it what would you choose?

Cheap is the word...
The thing is keeping things stock means your costs aren't spiralling out of control on keeping up with the latest mods. Look at that guy who had the 190 bhp 1.4 corsa, he was competing in the hot hatch devision wasn't he? but that engine must of cost shit loads to build.
Just thinking about it - maybe as a hobby next year or something.

not a cheap hobby tho.... i'd say you have to budget 5k all in..... getting to all events (iff attending full calender) .... repairs/servicing etc....

yeh - cheap compared to that is what I meant ak... all motorsport is expensive. And you wouldn't need insurance as you could take the car on the trailer.

bringin this old thread back to life!
I'm racing a Nova Gsi in the 750mc championship, the car finnished 6th out of 80 cars last year.
Quickest cars tend to be saxo and 106, these are changing hands for £7k ish wheras the old Nova was ess than half that and will give them a good run for the money.
I was racing in Rallycross stockhatch before in a 205, 205 still quick in rallycross but not top 10 anymore in circuit stockhatch.
These are also Corsa 1.4 16v in stockatch but so far not that quick.
