Phoned up today to renew the Corsa, its with esure at the moment but the Astra is with Admiral so I thought I'd see how it would be to have both cars with the same company.
They quoted me a fairly good price, including wheels and exhaust, told me I could have some introductory no claims on this policy as I'm an existing good customer, then told me as I've moved in to my girlfriends and its a lower risk they were going to refund some money back on the Astra as well. Bonus. Works out its costing about 370 for the year for the Corsa which for a second car with no earned NCB is not bad at all.
I phoned back later on because I wasn't sure if my gf had points or not - she does - so I had to tell them. I made the fatal mistake of phoning after 5 and being diverted to India.
Hello can I take your name and policy number.
I don't have a policy number, have my name.
OK, now please give me your policy number.
I don't have it.
OK is your name spelt grqq9ptsyyarhq.
No.
OK how about graaffuyyjsowkllg.
No. G-R-I-F-F-I-T-H-S.
Ok what can we do for you.
I need to add points on to the named drive on my policy. She has an SP30 in June 04 and another in September 2000.
So she has 6 points.
No 3.
She has conviction in June 04 totalling three points and conviction in September 2000 totalling three points.
Yes, the one in 2000 has expired its over three years ago.
We need to know about convictions in past 5 years.
I know, thats why I told you, but she doesn't have 6 points, she has 3.
Are they still on the licence.
No.
She has conviction in last 5 years are these still on the licence.
They are still written on, yes. Shall I cross them out, does that change anything.
*bit of silence*
OK please be aware that in the event of a claim while driving under the influence of alchohol or drugs we will not pay. My name is Marinda for reference, thank you for phoning Admiral.

Some people will never learn.
I suspect they didn't make any record of what you asked them to do.

I work for Norwich Union Direct, and I hate this too, you transfer a call to customer service - you get India, who appear to think I am a policy holder and insist on asking me security ques, ie DOB of person I am trying to transfer!
Devised a way of ensuring none of my transfers go to India, so any people who are with NUD ask to speak to an english/scottish operator, can be done although India say otherwise
