How many coats is best, got motts and started to prime them in grey primer, they have had 3 coats and look quite solid and the purple which i got them in is now totaly gone any more coats or are they ready for a rub down and sprayed black ?

I reckon they're ready mate. Flat them out real good and make them uber smooth then get on with the paintin. Should look nice when they're on your ride man.

do i just give them three coats of each from now on i.e colour and lacquer

yeah best 2 give 3 coats of each, least then theres less chance of sanding back thru it lol. then when you'v smoothed the lacquer get on it with the t-cut then meguires scratch-x and you'll have wet look paint
