You might as well, they work faster than non 64 chips, i.e. AMD XP (rather than AMD XP 64)
and the costs are pretty fair, like 100 quid gets you a decent 3200 64 or whatever.
I've got a 3000 AMD 64 and it is plenty with a decent graphics card to play any of the games at the moment and when 64 bit apps are released it'll be able to do them (though probably by that time, pretty shitly)

Wait on the winchester version of the AMD64 chip to come back in stock, its out everywhere at the minute. Its same 939 socket as the AMD64 3500+ chip, actually its the same name but make sure you buy the WINCHESTER CHIP SET as its a smaller diode than the normal NEWCASTLE CHIP SET and will only be marginally more expensive (appx £170)
Has a smaller diode so generates less heat and uses smaller voltage. Has slightly better performance in tests.
Buy the A-Bit Guru Board, its very good. Just got these last week and a Radeon 9800 Ultimate card. Good set up in general although not the ultra latest in parts

What's the cost of Windows XP 64 at the moment? You're never going to get full potential from a 64-bit CPU when you're on a 32-bit OS.
