Think of it this way mate. A little bit of uni debt now means you would come out with a lot more cash in the long run. I'll be about 12k of student loans in debt when I finish, but I know I dont have to pay it back until Im earning a job over so much, and its better for me in the longrun.
And with you having 2 years experience already it gives you a headstart over many other students after you finished your degree.

PMSL he's got a point Paul.
I want to work in IT, thing is without a degree you're pretty much helpless. Best off to stay where you are and try and move up. Is that possible?

When you leave jobs like yours you normally need to do hand over documents, so the next bint who takes your job knows WTF has been going on.
IMHO its time to move on, OKAY theres 6th form girls but you are getting paid less then me.. and I'm 19.
2 years is a healthy amount of time, leave.
or, tell them you arent happy with your pay and shitty techies room and demand change, otherwise you leave.

Please stop talking bullshit, I'm 19, without a degree, couple of GCSEs and I'm working in a pretty good networking job.
I'm studying for my CCNA, pushing for Solaris certification.

why is it then that all the job ads i've been looking at in the papers require some sort of degree?

I did the advanced IT course, was pretty good
I thought exactly the same about the debt, I don't think I could handle my bank account at -£12,00
I'm in the process of working my way up the ranks in the DVLA

Kind of agree. Most places ask for degrees, but mainly, most want x amount of years experience in the industry. You could have the best degree in the world with feckin bells hanging off it and some companies still would want some experience.

I didnt have any experience to get in this job, I went to the interview and told them what I knew, what I've setup at home and stuff. BAM got a job.

I was kinda the same as that.
Got GCSE's, got Advanced GNVQ IT as well, then got a job straight from that in I.T. but was a small company, (the boss, his wife and me) Was ok for a year or so, then it went shit, he got stressed about everything and i got the blame for everything that went wrong.
He "sacked" me in the end because he was an arsehole, basically someone lost the keys to the warehouse, by putting them in a customers laptop bag. and i got the blame because i was meant to be in charge of this other 40yr old bloke (i was 18-19)
Anyway... I got sacked about 4 weeks into uni, so went to Derby said i wanted to do a course, and started the week after
Quit that course after 2 years and have started another one this year. Am in debt (10k or so :S) but wouldn't change it for anything, Student life is soooooooo good.
Go to uni ! Do something that interests you Computer course are boring and the stuff you learn ain't really helpful. But i'm still doing it. Digital Entertainment now, not too bad

Incorrect, I know a few people who do OK without one. They all started low and stuck at it though. I dare say running an academic network and putting a bit of work in to data driven ASP won't do you any harm at interview...
