There is a guy that insists on ringing me up for tech support, having told him a million time, I've built a website that deals with that stuff and stop ringing me.... he says.... all the times he adds a service request the tech staff ignore it...
will this reply do, you think?
LSS is the helpdesk, that's what it's there for, the I deal with development work and complex system faults, the ISA's do the day to day stuff and this is how you get hold of them if you don't know where they are. We did design it like that, we just have to work with it.

I made a point of taking the day out from redesigning the fault logging system to come and fix there.... mouse.... and now I'm here, he is sat there moaning cos the fault logging system is givin him errors!!!
I really am gonna hit him!!!

I did... he had the cheek to say, that was a quick visit... so I said... what did you want me to do? stand here all day doing fuck all? I've got better things to do than fix mouses that are already working!!! and walked out!

i have this problem also, although i quite like it.
We have our own dedicated helplline/support service which people can ring if any aspect of their IT go fuck up. Staff still ring me up and ask me to sort it out when it's not even part of my job 
I don't mind, get's me out the office sometimes and passes the time of day

Yeah, but imagine what it'd be like if you took the helpline away... this one person wont mind cos they ring you... but all the otehrs will... and my main focus is to get that running at it's maximum potential before April 05, I'm in the middle of it all now, and I can't afford to stop and go clean a mouse for some moaning twat!

Well... good news for my boss... the security patch just kicked in on the Web Filter.. and nocked me off MSN... now I can't get back on they always manage to screw my day up
