My mate had an accident about 9 months ago, someone ran into the back of him, they admitted liability, his car was assessed and was given a payout to repair the damage.
He got his renewal letter in this morning saying due to a claim he had lost 3 of the 4 years no claims and the insurance had doubled from £400 to £800.
Should he have lost his NCB due to the other party admitting liability and their insurance paying out to repair his car?
Does this count as a claim? or have the insurance company messed up?

He has spoken to another insurance company and they have advised that he should not have lost his NCB.
So he's giving his insurance company a call tomorrow once they are open.
