following on from Ak's post, you are either the Green or Blue car.
you want to go where the red arrow is pointing

(there are no road markings, the arrows are just to indicate direction of traffic)

so which car is you???

Green! then move to the blue position before exiting...

So many cars have nearly written me off because they're turning right but are in the left lane... I'm in the right hand lane as I want to go straight ahead into the 2nd lane of a dual carriageway...

I go straight - they pull across!!!

blatantly green as the green car could go straight over thus killing the blue car if it was to go round

Nevermind what your driving instructor used as an easy way to get you through a test, 12 o'clock this and that, you won't win a disputed accident claim going on about 12 o'clock.

I'm frankly shocked by how bad by some peoples knowledge of Highway Code is.

ps. If green and blue both go for the same exit and they collide it is greens fault for entering blues path.

No opinion about it, or what looks safer, that is the bloody rules.
