Ive been looking at M3 Evo's for a while now, and am quite taken by the idea of one, but have recently discovered how blisteringly fast a BMW Alpina B3 is.

http://www.parkers.co.uk/choosing/specs/data.aspx?model_id=106&id=20163

0-60 in like 4 seconds, and top end of 163. But they 280bhp, whereas the M3 Evo's are 320bhp but 0-60 in 5.3 and top end of 155(limited i assume). And a weight difference of only 100 or so kilos. The B3 is 5 Speed, and the Evo is 6 speed. Any clues what this switchtronic thing is on a B3?

And, any childish remarks from the usual crew, piss off into off day and annoy someone else

I've always wondered what the real differences were....

Personally I've always held the Alpina in higher esteem..... but all my mates think otherwise!

Does the M3 need another gear change to get to 60?

That blue one doesn't scream 'good taste' to me I'll be honest.

The B3 blue. Looks to me like a 318 in a daft colour iwith some stick on bits.

That M3 is silly as well - what is wrong with a factory standard one, right wheels etc. Estoril of course.

Any E46 M3-derivative would suit me, but the B3 does look tasty.
