dont connect with dreamweaver, use 'ws_ftp pro' easy to connect and transfer files

It's easy to use with Dreamweaver, if you actually know your username!    
(The 1&1 Control Panel tells you what that is)

ICY if you cant get Dreamweaver working use Internet Explorer as an FTP client. 
 
in the address bar type ftp://www.your-domain.com then you get a username and password box, enter those and that should get you in ,  
 
failing that i have an FTP logon script on my page here (bottom left)
