Not had my Valver rolling-roaded yet but im suspecting its not making its 155bhp it should. Its running fine, but ive recently raced two Fiesta 1.6's and it wouldnt pass them (we only got upto 85ish before lights)...

My 20XE is std although it does have a LOT of weight being a 5door, sunroofed and big ICE but was shamed only to be keeping up with a bleedin Feezda. Not impressed, oh and yesh I can drive it properly!

What BHP do they run - im guessing it will be a fair bit lighter than mine too?

Christ... I have issues!! Booking her into rolling road then after Crimbo to get the bad news! It has a 45mm bore exhaust which is restricting but other than that it should be fine! Gutted Compression is all-good, need a new set of leads but something has to be SERIOUSLY wrong to be level with a Fez!

Maybe she's slipped a tooth? Car is very heavy though... weighed in at 1010kg with X12XE engine and I now have valver power + an extra sub/box!

i devoured a 1.6 zetec focus in 1/4 mile race twice... same engine... slightly heaver car yeh.....

but i pulled nearly 13 lengths the first time and about 8 the second time

i only have a 1.6 corsa......

what speed were you doing?

he may have had a surprise package under the bonnet

Your right about the bore sizes... But 2.25 on a 1.4 is overkill. 2.25" is about right for the valver engine.

What can cause massive performance loss but still allow it to run fine? Im wondering if its the injectors? Its an older 20XE which has been converted to dis-pac with the exhaust cam, 2.8 Motronic ECU etc but its still running the older style cream injectors which run at 2.5 bar I believe as opposed to the blues which run at 3 bar which are found as std on the C20XE later models... but it runs fine?

One other person - 24 stone combined between me N her LOL. Maybe he did have a sneaky suprise under the hood? One thing I know is that its a LOT quicker than my old mans 2.2l Toyota Camray, seems fine on launch - plenty of power but once it hits 3000 rpm it just seems lifeless...

There have been cases where they have slipped a tooth and have lost power but still ran ok? Im 14 stone, the girl was 10, 2 stone on her chest at least....

Just spoke to my rolling road near me, £40 and he'll do it in Jan. I'll post up results when I know...
