im moving a forum from 1 hosting site, to another.

which tables do i need to transfer over, so i keep all the members and posts etc

so far ive copied over the......

catagories
forums
forum_prune
groups
posts
post_text
privmsg
privmsg_text
sessions
topics
topc_watch
users
user_group


do i need any others, or are there some of them i didnt need?

You could have done a complete SQL backup then run the script that it generates to rebuild the database - if you are using phpMyAdmin.

Just move everything over.

You'd be best of dumping the contents of each table as batch scripts then running them on the new server.

Posts will have a topic and will be by a user
Topics will be in a forum
Forums will have a category
Users will have private messages too (not sure what _text would be)
...

Move all.

what is this script? as i did move them all, and when i clicked certain things, it took me back to the old hosting site

this is my 1st ever play with sqls - yes i am in phpMyAdmin

You should be able to perform an export with any mySQL GUI or even just resort to command line prompts.

i exported all files, but im thinking it was maybe the config table that fucked things up, not certain thou

Can't you just upload a fresh copy of the forum, get it working, then overwrite the tables?

yeah thats what i have done joffery

then when i upload every table, when i click the 'Go to Administration Panel' it takes me to the old site for some daft reason :S
