I know its not really worth it and all that but it might be me but alot of posts and speak of valvers being abit tempramental at the mo and as i know my engine is a good'un and still relatively low mileage i was thinking about it!

Plus may know someone who could do it at a resonable cost but wonderd what the rough costs are and what other mods work well with it!

Cheers folks

the actual tbs inlet etc cost 886+vat, then you need management loom and mapping 1k then you need decent exhaust manifold 300-500 head work, 400-500 for a good job cams about 300-500 again, not cheap, try lookign for second hand stuff tho......

cheer jr you made my dreams come true

it would be more worthwhile trying to fing a x16xe cheap and doing this all to that you will be looking at an ecxtra 30 bhp on the wholeid say if set up correctly

try a rally website for ex race engines etc

There's miles's old 1.6 16V engine on eurorallye for 2450 I think, it's knockign out 175BHP (give or take) you'd need to put 40mm trumpets on a a smaller filter.

Doing it from scratch depends on how much you can do yourself. but:
manifold 165 (inc VAT+P&P)
40mm bodies, 40mm trumpet, fuelrail, throttle linkage 750(inc VAT+P&P)
emerald management £650 (as above)
Make your own loom from the exsiting one
coil pack from 2L ecotec £35-50 from scrappy
ARP's £65
janspeed exhaust manifold £170 (as above)
Adjustable Fuel pressure reg £x
Airfliter+backign plate £75 (as above)
and it will look like this-

and you'll have about 130BHP.

Everyone says put the money into a valver, but I seen JR got up the strip in his 1.4 , I think about 15.7 or sommet..... alot of valvers only went up around that time.

Did JR's even have throttle boddies??

I bet you can get 145 - 150 BHP out of the 1.4 put a LSD on it and your laughing!!
