"The insurance worker from Leeds, who was driving a green Volkswagen Golf, said the attack happened after he and the driver of the van got out of their vehicles to confront one another at about 5.20pm on Tuesday, September 25.
He described the driver as an Asian male, aged 25 and 6ft tall.
"He just kept shouting abuse and swear words at me," said the man.
"Then he started to kick the car, so I got in it and shot off because I was in fear for my life."
He said he stopped again to phone police, and after speaking to officers drove back to Manchester Road, near the junction with St Stephen's Road.
He pulled into a lay-by to wait for a recovery truck. It was then he was attacked by another group of Asians."
