Why would i want a turbo? If i wanted a turbo i would of bought a turbo car...

Red your brakes may be larger etc etc however its the inside of the wheel which causes the problem, Kahn even said to me the best thing i could do is ditch my RS-S's and buy RS-V's because there is so much more room under them.

I love RS-S's i think they suit the car so that is no an option.

Coblet there is no way my pants, crap lowlife second job could afford my red dots, however i have quite a bit of cash in the bank as it is which will eat that up

as you mentionede before using another spacer will make the effective offset of the wheel ET40 which is ideal as SRi allys are ET 40 as vaux intended why not do that and buy some decent brakecaplipers such as Tarrox, AP racing or Brembos.

Not heard a good word said abput red dot tbh

If you can get the bigger brakes then go for it, its a logical way round it, and you cant beat the look of some massive stoppers behind the wheels. The only thing is that as yet, no-one makes a brake upgrade kit for the C's and im not entirely sure why. I also know that no other vauxhall items will fit, so the V6 calipers etc are all a no-go.

What i would suggest doing is going to vauxhall and enquiring about 1.4 calipers. All C's from the 1.0's to the 1.4's use the same brake pads, but the 1.8's use different ones. Strangely though the 1.8 and 1.4's have the same 260mm vented disks, so the only thing i can think of is that they have different calipers on the 1.8, possibly to do with having disks on the back too . either way, it might be worth checking it out as a much cheaper alternative .

Fad you are correct in what your saying, standard vaux SRi alloys are indeed et40, however vaux dont intend for there cars to be lowered -45+mm, which i have,

This is still quite high to myself, when i had it on my SXi with no spacer i had it slammed with no rubbing at all!

Rob H, thanks for your input, i didnt realise the brake discs were the same, so i guess the front calipers on the 1.4 SRi is the same as my 1.2 SXi?

In that case it should solve the problem,

My only problem is vaux mus of put bigger calipers on the front fr a reason... and i think it would be maybe a little foolish to comprmise the safty of the car with calipers which are ment for cars less then 1.4's

Yeah i was thinking this too. I cant think of a logical reason for doing it though. May still be worth asking Vauxhall what the differences between the two are, and if you'd be ok to change them. Not like you have to worry about bias valves etc as you have ABS for that. Thought i'd mention it anyway .

you'll get away wth it as my mate has ET37 17's lowered a hell of a lot and that dont rubb. As you said you like your rims why not try the spacer and if it works keep the rims. That way you onl fork out ofr the spacers rather than a new set of rims?

fad i already have 5mm spacers, and with them it rubs like hell.

To stop the caliper catching, ill need like 10mm spacers for the front.

This will make it even worse and make it rub even more, as it rubs lots with just 5mm spacers
