with the sub and amp that you suggested, you can only wire the coils to 4 ohm, meaning the amp would only give the sub 500wRMS

At 1 ohm you seriously risk damaging the amplifier, as its not rated to be used at 1 ohm. If Rockford fosgate say 2 ohm, then trust me stick at 2 ohm

if its one ohm stable it will run the sub ok as it will make more than the 1100 listed, if it isnt and you run it at 4 ohm it will be VERY underpowered.
If the amp isnt listed as 1 ohm perfect by rockford dont do it she'll cook.

yea mate that will work, but tbh i would have a go at running it at 1ohm - fair enough its not cert. as being stable a 1ohm but a shite full of people run it in a 1ohm load and say its fine - but then again theres always that maybe that it will cook
but yea, that sub will work fine mate

i wouldnt risk that much money running it at 1 ohm cos if you sent it back to rockford under warranty they would know what uve done and probably wouldnt cover the repair.
