my 2L corsa had a problem about a week ago with the cv joint (i thought). i got the garage to pick it up last friday & they've had it since then. he road tested it twice & couldn't experience the fault, the last time i drove it the steering wheen was juddering like fook when i was in gear even at low speeds.
However, i was glad to hear that it was no longer doing this so i picked the keys up on my way home earlier so i could collect it once i'd sorted a lift out. When I got down there & i turned the ignition on there was a strange whinning noise on permanantly (it did used to make this noise for afew seconds & then fade away) i left it for afew seconds & decided i'd try & start it but it sounded rough as a bears arse & the exhaust backfired with a bang! it went in for a problem with the transmission so what the fuck have the done to my engine & why

im gonna go down in the morning & see them. if i dont get it sorted im cracking skulls

really am considering taking it off the road, stripping it down & rebuilding it totally so i know whats been done properly & what hasn't (the whole car not just the lump)

not having much luck recently

Fair point, but be prepared to spend upwards of £600. Rebuilds are not cheap

Loud whining noise sounds like the fuel pump... especially if your exhaust is bein loaded up with enough fuel to backfire like that

well for going to work etc i normally drive the sxi. sometimes traffic can be abit of a pain so during the week i rarely use the 2L. on weekends i mostly drive the 2L just for the factor

not really used the blue one much due to it having no MOT at the mo & also the gear linkage is broken & i haven't had time to try to fix it

once i sell the sxi i shall use the blue one for going to work untill my mate buys it off me. then its time for my next project
