Had to take the front wheels off last night to adjust the suspension,

as i thought it was far to low and had to raise it loads because of the 5mm spacer.

When i took the wheel off i noticed even with the spacer the caliper had at some point came in contact with the wheel. Thus grinding away the inside of some of the wheel!!!!

The only way i can see around it is to either buy new wheels, (thus giving me caliper clearance)

Get a better offset alloy of what i have at present (et 35, same as having a 10mm spacer) which will push the wheel out even more!! meaning i cant lower it much at all.

Get bigger brakes (moving the caliper away from the center of the alloys and out to where there is space)

Now i was thinking about getting new brakes anyhow and that just seems the best option.

Means i can keep my current alloys, in its current offet (et45), and also letting me lower the car more!

Im willing to spend say £500? Want as big as possible, i guess i could only get 280mm for that, i would like 300mm to fill up the wheels a bit more mind,

What you think?

High spec? I want a brake kit, so have everything in one box what i need!

Please help

Can you not fit a 10mm spacer? Just using longer bolts?

I know Pete is intending to mod the engine but still... unless we are talking 250-300bhp IMO they would be a waste of money

i dont think it will solve his problem but i do see were he's coming from.

his caliper is to near the centre of his wheels thus hitting them.

the outside of his wheels are more dished I.E more spacer between the wheel and the cailiper

so... bigger brakes would bring the caliper more to the outside of the wheel.

I THINK

Your standard brakes will be more than suitable for 200bhp.

300mm 4 Pots, Reyland. £675.

People say standard brakes good enough for 200bhp..... are you stupid? ROFL. It doesn't matter if you have 60bhp or 300+bhp, you can still:

a) hit 100mph
b) might need to stop in a hurry.

You can never have good enough brakes IMO.

Of course quicker cars can tram up more speed in a shorter space, but like i said, one day they might save your bacon!

Piccy doesn't work...

I'm not saying bigger are better, infact on my recent trip to the nurbugring I saw some F1 brakes, and they were a totally different concept. But always buy the best you can!

sounds like a real bodge up to me, i'd get something safer and less fcuked up....

but seriously, spend the money and u'll be happy, no point getting something cheaper just because its cheaper, u'll only wish u'd got the better ones.

I couldnt agree more 3corsameal,

I have done it in the past and learned from it.

What would be ideal is to maybe speak to a brake manufacture and get them to look at the problem with me, as well as making a brake kit for my car.

Currently no one makes a brake kit for the Corsa C,
