I got an email suppose to be from ebay telling me to become a powerseller. They gave me the following link: http://ebaypowerseller.official.ws/

I entered an invalid username and password and it still entered.

I presume this is a scam. Has anyone else had this sort of email?

By the way DON'T ENTER YOUR EBAY LOGIN DETAILS!

I noticed this too. If they do get your username and password what can they actually do with it apart from bid on items and sell items?
They can't get credit card info as its encrypted.

They can just start using your login details and set up loads of bogus auctions trading off your good feedback and they take all the money and not send any items to the winners then you get all the bad feedback etc.

This is true either way it very dodgey and i can't believe ebay let them get away with it. As i emailed them with info regarding a similar matter and the site is still running conning people. Surely ebay could stop them as it is fraud.
Personally i don't think ebay really care as they are making millions.

Pretending to be a site that you're not in order to get login details is called Phishing and is a multi million dollar business affecting many online traders, financial institutions as well as eBay.

If someone sets a site up and sends a few emails the damage is usually done very quickly. Very difficult to do anything about.

Regarding the mail in utmost good faith - read the topped thread in Classifieds thats been there since July
