just west of sydney, and see lots of jap motors, everything you can think of, but my favourite are the V8 aussie builds like ford falcons and holden/HSV's. Saw a HSV Clubsport R8 with 290kw today, the brakes were 370mm according to him, and i didnt doubt him! 6 pot stoppers too!!!

i dont understand how a 256k line can download at that speed, has there been a software problem where its become temporarily uncapped, or is that just cos of caching?

its probably locally cached in one of the transparent proxies or something Ive had it before, getting a few megs a sec on a 750k connection, but it was only a one off

i get download speeds of around 250kb/sec normally, and occasionally at 1-3mb/sec. Depends on current network usage here in auz, also depends if your connection is 256kb or 256KB, since kb is 4 times faster than dial-up, and KB is 400 times faster, transfer speeds are often shown in KB/s, and connect speeds are usually quoted in Kb/s, hence the illusion many ISP's give that you are on a 1Mbsec line when in fact the maximum you could possible have is 125/250kbps

1024 bits = 1byte
1024bytes = 1Mb

and internet connections are usually in KiloBits = so 750Killobit connection means that you download at roughly 75Kilobytes.

So cybers connection is 2056MBit, if hes downloading at 256KiloBytes

remember though, windows doesnt take into account the extra 24bits in a Mb, ie: it thinks 1000kb is 1MB, hence why your drives seem to be bigger than it is

Programers treat 1Mb as 1024Kb, hardware manufacturers like harddrive ones treat 1Mb as 1000Kb which technically is the correct figure.
