wiring up my amp.

All cable are now in boot, remote, power, rca, earth etc....but i carnt get power for the amp....i've tried everything.....even swapping aroun the fuses, 10, 15, 30 etc....i'm sure the connection i have for the ground is ok....

turned the amp RCA on at the head unit?

this should be in the ice section mate

but easiest way, get a multimeter, set it measure volts, connect one probe to the power cable and the other to ground - and if you get a reading of around 11-13v+ its cool. Then, connection one probe to the negative cable (near the amp side) and the touch the other probe to ANOTHER section of bare metal on the car, if it buzzes out then its fine also.

in which case something has gone tits up with your amp etc

i've set my multimeter to this setting and it has mesured 10.8 but still no power

is it on permenant live? or ignition live?

if its on ignition live turn the igniton on......

directly to the head unit and then its just loose in my boot

for an earth, i've uncliped the left rear
lights cover and used the little bolt nearest

u have to connect the remote to the amp (loose end in boot) to tell it to come on.

earth is ok i've done the same

just tired that, still no power.

I have the red power lead connected with bare wire onto the amp termanals, could it be this?

sombody hold me back, i'm about to chuck this bastard amp of a bridge on the m6 onto an unexpected chav driving a saxo

no thats ok not the best way to do it but your amp should still come on.

and your sure its on permanent live? if not try it again with just the iginition lights on.

no the fuse is only there if summat goes wrong. if it does the fuse blows. i can't think of anything else. to wire a amp its only a power wire, ground wire and a remote wire and the amp should deffinatly come on. Just check that the fuses ain't blown

warrington.

when i connect the grong wire to the nut i get a huge spark, then when i take away and do the same theres nothing also somtimes get a spark when i connect the power wire upto the amp.
