Not too sure on the size whether to go for a 195-45-15 or a 195-50-15 and deffo not too sure on the brand
Anyone got any ideas ?

defo 195/45's m8 50's look stupid and should only be found on mondeos!!!

As for brands Goodyears, and Toyos seem fairly good but Goodyears are vpricey!

toyo proxes t1-r's - the new range
or falken fk451's in my opinion.

50 profile will give slightly better handling but the 45's obviously look miles better. Ive just fitted some dunlop SP9000's on mine and they are real nice.

just ordered some 195/45/15 toyo proxes t1-r 55 quid each fitted

Ride possibly, but not handling.

45s IMO. 50s look huuuuuge.

^ Sorry to disagree but handling will be better. You get much more grip out of a 50 profile than a 45 because it has the ability to absorb more bumps/uneven ground and the sidewalls are much more forgiving. On absoloutley smooth track the 45 will be better but for broken/medium tarmac (UK roads) then i'd deffo say the 50 would be better but the difference isnt THAT much.

50's look weird on 15's, i've had 45mm and 50mm and didn't notice any big diff in handling.

like ian says, 50's will be a slightly less bumpy ride, but handling is better with the 45 profile, from stiffer sidewall.

anyone got any pics of a standard gsi with 15" alloys on prefer with a 35 to 40mm drop
