British hostage in Iraq dead: report
LONDON (AFP) - Ken Bigley, a British hostage kidnapped in Baghdad last month, has been killed, Sky News television reported, quoting government sources.
A spokesman for Downing Street, Prime Minister Tony Blair's office, declined to comment when contacted by AFP, but the Foreign Office said it was investigating reports on Abu Dhabi television that Bigley was dead.

Hows he niave? He would have been told the risks before going out there, plus get an armed escort from ex-servicemen.
The security are on around £1000 a week, if anything it was the money that made him go, i mean no- one would go there for the fun of it.

End of the day he knew the risks, although it is sad. You cant blaime no1 except the hostage keepers who killed him.

Witnesses have been shown a videotape which they said left little doubt Mr Bigley had been killed.

Mr Bigley is the first British captive killed since Coalition forces invaded Iraq in March 2003.

Insurgents in the Iraqi city of Fallujah had said they believed Mr Bigley was killed on Thursday in the town of Latifiyah, 22 miles south-west of Baghdad.
Engineer Mr Bigley was abducted in Baghdad along with fellow construction workers Jack Hensley and Eugene Armstrong three weeks ago.
An Abu Dhabi television news reporter said the video footage blames an ongoing US operation in the Latifiyah area, which was getting close to the killers' hideout, for his murder.
The kidnappers also said they hoped to heap political pressure on Mr Blair by killing Mr Bigley.

Feel sorry for his family, wouldnt wish this upon anyone......but, he was working in a high risk war stricken country - he knew the risks, especially since its not the first time a westerner was kidnapped and murdered! Really he shouldnt have been there IMO!
