Went out at 10pm to go to work and car won't start...
Just clicks when turning key so i presume this is the 'Starter motor'.... Clicking is deffo coming from under bonnet and not at dash. Not looked yet as had to come to work but i dunno where starter motor is on the 2.5 v6 engine..?

Also though when it clicks all my hazards flash like what the alarm does???
Maybe alarm fault and immobilser is still on...Deffo clicking though.....

Had to walk to work....

missus car is in garage too with a fuel leak and rotten zorst!!!!

Whats the best way to try and start it if it is starter motor? Jump start? Hit the starter motor witha stick??? (done this years ago to my old axgt)

any help opinions guys..need to get it started to go to a garage...

cheers..

Is your Battery flat?

Silly question but it would click if you tried to start it.
Plus the alarm would do that is well....

yes but the battery is obv fucked and would just loose the charge again,

otherwise it would have charged enough to start the car when he had it running for 20min

may be your alternator, the belt could have simply snapped, i had this, driving the car with it running off nothing but the battery then eventually everything died b4 i realised what the problem was! the belt had snapped off! 3£ for a new 1 at halfrauds.

so even if u jump it and get it going it wil lrun off the battery till its flat again and the alternator wont charge it so it will just die again, but if you had the car running for 20min after jumping it i imagine its ok. your belt will go round your PAS aswell so when you had the car running did your power steering work?

Your battery light should have came on in the dash lights to let you know that the fan belt had snapped

I had to renew my battery about 6 months ago. Got it for £18. It's good when you know someone who works in a garage.
