i bought a h plate 14 sr with 70k and full history for 300 and its had 20k of solid thrash and the only problem i had was the head gasket. now that same engine as had a turbo conversion and is still running sweet, just the body work lets it down now

Personally if I had 2k to spend on a nova I would look for a GSi as near to standard as possible. I brought one recently for 1k and there isn't a mark on it and it had a full rebuilt less than 10k ago Plently around for sale, quite a few XEs on mig too.
